So this week has been a busy week ! People have been coming and going like it's a party. We have had the electricians in to wire up the new bathroom and the plumber in for DAYS to move all the drains and water supplies around!
The room (which our electricians refer to as the "million dollar bathroom" - cute), is still a mess, and a huge amount of work is still ahead, but it is moving along. This weekend, because the electricians are all done, is going to consist of strapping, insulating and vapour barrier-ing the ceiling of the bathroom. That's right, not drywalling, but still something!
The best part of this week was how good Odus was with everyone there! Both the plumber and the electricians had to beep him once (this is just the beep on his shock collar, rather than the shock!) and after that, he was freindly and quiet. Our brave plumber even reached over into his crate to pet him and he leaned in for a good ear-itch! I'm such a proud momma to see him being a better dog! Plus, he went to puppy daycare this week too and they said he has really changed and improved in the past few months - which is a big relief to us!
We love our more-secure-with-himself puppy!
.... And our bathroom with working lights and running water!
XO,

My life since College has moved fast; I meet a man (turned out to be THE man), moved back to my hometown (but not back home), found the job of my dreams (back in College), bought a house (and ripped it apart), took a few vacations, got engaged, sold our first house, got a small cat & a big dog, bought a new house (that we are currently ripping apart), got married .... what's next? .... these are my adventures and bumps as the girl that doesn't know any better.

Not that you would ever know it, but .....
...... this is a bathroom (or is going to be!)

...... and this will be my laundry area (complete with funky wash basin, washer & dryer)

...... and this is our water closet (otherwise know as the room with the toilet! This room is close to the size of our entire bathroom at our last house!)

.... this is where our double vanity will be going (against the interior wall, not the insulated wall) .....

......and this is T standing in our 4x6 shower looking at about where the shower head will be

.... and this is where our 2-person soaker tub will be - with a big dormer above it letting in light ...... we just ordered it last night!

I can hardly wait! But with the interior walls coming up I can really start seeing it come together!!!! SO EXCITED!

Things That Amuse Me!
I was in the kitchen today after work and in doing my day to day shuffling I noticed two things that greatly amused me that I thought I would share;
1) We only own one one dog but we have 9 (16kg) bags of dog food! Note that we also have two different high-end kinds of food for one dogs - we mix them at every meal!

2) We own a beef freezer - that is right, a full stand-up freezer full of beef - that is a shelf of steak, a shelf of ground beef and a roast drawer! Ahhh, so glad my Dad is a farmer!

Mussing for the night.

Progress
So, we have entered 2011 with a big reno project started - the bathroom. It will be amazing and I am super excited about the room, but I realized the other day that I am less than normal. When I wrote how excited I was with the progress in the bathroom, then I was later speaking to a friend that night who asked how close we were to finished - we are FAR from finished ....... but it has come along way baby!
I suppose my excitement comes not from how close it is to finished, but how far it is from what it was! Which I can understand why others aren't sharing my excitement for a half insulated dusty room.
In the past 5 years I really have changed my view on things; maybe it has been Ty and the calm and truth he has brought to my life that makes me have such a bright view of the future; maybe it is our renos that have shown me how great the finished product is; maybe it is my job - which brings me so much pleasure to play a small part in others success story; maybe it is my cat or my dog; maybe it is my nephews or friends babies; maybe it is growing up and finding myself.
..... Or maybe, just maybe, what if it is just the bad times that have made me stronger and more appreciative of all the good things; what if it is the hard times that make me appreciate the smaller things that I never noticed before - blinding sunshine and beautiful eyelashes on babies; what if it is the sad times when you can see so clearly through your tears and pain who is standing beside you - shedding tears with you.
What if .... these lessons are all learned from half insulated dusty rooms?
(hmmm, too deep?)
A little snap shot of where we are ...... blissfully far from finished.
